The platform was co-designed and developed by PAN and runs on the web and as a native app. Since launch it has grown to a community of over 30,000 members.
For the last two years I have been responsible for the communications strategies across a number of campaigns. This includes a series of animations which are drawn by hand and narrated by the voice of the overseeing 'Ele.' More recently we have also incorporated real voices and real stories from the community.
The animations have covered topics like overcoming barriers to accessing support offline, or getting more physically active for better mental health.
I have also produced a number of static print and digital materials for the promotion and onboarding of the platform. This includes outreach to specific, harder-to-reach audiences that could benefit from joining the platform.
All materials are based on intensive research findings drawn from workshops with the community, remote testing with local Minds, and one to one interviewing with relevant stakeholders.
Some of the research findings have led to functionality changes on the platform itself, capturing insight on user behaviour from existing audiences and revealing the numerous ways the platform can support its members.
Our work with Mind is ongoing, as the platform continues to grow, capturing new audiences and new ways for Elefriends to connect and share. It forms part of our overall relationship with Mind, with whom we've worked on a number of projects.
